Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Samsung servers in China broke down yesterday after several fiber optic cables were accidentally cut during road construction in Beijing, reports Chinese news outlet Wall Street CN.
The incident resulted in outages for AWS in the Northern China region, including Beijing, and widespread failures for Samsung servers. At the time, Samsung issued an apology saying service had been affected by a failure in their fiber optic cables and that repairs would take about one hour.
Both AWS and Samsung servers have resumed their normal services.
