Tencent’s online document tool, which allows its users to write, edit, and collaborate wherever they are, has gained nearly 30 million users, according to an official announcement celebrating its one-year birthday.
The tech giant’s founder Pony Ma said last year that he was pleased by the launch of the online documents tool and praised the product team.
The team in charge of Tencent Documents, a product comparable to Google Docs, disclosed that it has gained 38,552 pieces of advice or encouragement and has kept updating the tool, with 2,675 functions already incorporated.
In an interview with 36Kr in April last year, Yan Xianqing, who worked with Tencent on instant messaging products, said that the tool’s basic functions will be free of charge, but that advanced features for companies might need additional payment in the future.
At that time, he revealed that e-commerce company Vipshop and online music provider Kugoo were among its corporate clients.
Google’s version of this type of product, Google Documents, is unavailable to internet users within China.
36Kr is the parent company of Kr-Asia.
