Singapore-based event tech startup PouchNation raises Series B extension from Tix Id

PouchNation, a business-to-business (B2B) event management tech startup, has raised an undisclosed amount of Series B extension from Indonesia’s ticket platform, Tix Id.

Indonesian travel tech unicorn Traveloka led PouchNation’s USD 4 million Series B round in June 2019.

Tix Id said it has more than ten million registered users, five million active users, and covers more than 80% of cinemas in Indonesia. Along with a partnership with PouchNation, the firm is now expanding its product offerings. In addition to movie tickets, Tix Id will offer event tickets on its platform, beginning March 2020. PouchNation’s on-ground team will also offer a seamless service for event organizers or promoters that distribute their tickets on Tix Id’s platform.

“We are excited to be part of the PouchNation success story and will work together to deliver a better experience for Indonesian consumers who are increasingly looking for more content and entertainment,” said Sean Kim, managing director of Tix Id in an official statement. “Jointly we will be able to guarantee a seamless experience starting from online ticket sales on the Tix Id platform, to offline crowd management, access control, and brand activation on PouchNation’s platform.”

PouchNation offers B2B event solutions based on Near Field Communication (NFC). It started as a cashless payment wristband provider for events in 2014. Over time, PouchNation evolved to offer a range of solutions for event organizers, theme parks and hospitality venues. Its services include registration, access control and security, cashless payments, brand activations, and data collection.

As PouchNation wants to strengthen its position and lead the venue business in Southeast Asia, the partnership with Tix Id will help increase its exposure in Indonesia. According to PouchNation’s CEO Ilya Kravtsov, the company will see more collaborations with Tix Id in the future, which revolve around end-to-end event technology services, as well as engage and invest more in live content and live experiences.
