Online marketplace Dei has officially launched in Singapore today. Dei, which stands for “Daily Everything,” partners with merchants and retailers in Singapore’s Little India to provide on-demand grocery delivery services to customers in the city-state.
Dei currently hosts over 70 brick-and-mortar Indian retailers in Little India. Its platform lists over 15,000 products, including top-selling products from India as well as prayer items. Customers ordering from Dei enjoy consolidated same-day delivery along with after-sale services.
The online marketplace was founded in 2016 to bridge the gap between shops in Little India and e-commerce. The company aims to bring all merchants in the district on board, and expand to include other precincts such as Chinatown and Kampong Glam.
Dei has to compete with other online grocery delivery platforms like honestbee and RedMart to establish a foothold in Singapore. The company is an official agency partner of the Info-Communications Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) and Enterprise Singapore (ESG) under the country’s smart nation initiative. Dei is currently raising seed funding to scale up.
