Grab enhances its Grab for Business suite with gift vouchers to target enterprises

Southeast Asian ride-hailing app Grab on Thursday launched GrabGifts, an e-voucher service that helps companies make Grab services available to employees, but also means individuals can send Grab gift vouchers to one another.

Since Grab for Business launched in Indonesia last May, Grab Indonesia’s executive director Ongki Kurniawan said he has seen a need from companies to have a way to show appreciation to their teams and customers.

Via GrabGift vouchers companies can now let employees and customers redeem a certain value of rides, food deliveries, or other Grab services.

“We hope that GrabGifts can become an alternative gift from users and companies to be able to strengthen relations and boost business growth,”Kurniawan told to media in the GrabGifts launch event.

GrabGifts is the part of Grab for Business program which was launched in May 2019 but the vouchers can also be purchased by individuals.

Kurniawan said 6,000 companies have adoped Grab for Business, including some state-owned Bank BNI and Bank BRI.

He said many companies have shifted to using Grab’s transportation service instead of operating their own car fleets, particularly in Jakarta where a transportation regulation only allows cars with an even number on it license plate to pass certain areas, and odd license plate on others. This measure is thought to ease congestion on the streets.

GrabGifts is available as e-voucher and physical voucher. The e-vouchers can be purchased on several websites and through e-commerce companies such as Tokopedia and Lazada. Meanwhile for the physical vouchers, Grab collaborates with TiPhone Mobile Indonesia, the largest distributor of prepaid phone vouchers in the country.

The physical voucher will be available at 200,000 TiPhone reseller partners across Indonesia, Lily Salim the CEO of Tiphone said at the event.
