ByteDance has allowed merchants to add mini programs on Douyin to sell goods directly to its users, Chinese outlet QDaily reported Wednesday.
Xiaomi has rolled out its mini-program on Douyin, facilitating sales to the short video app’s users without having to exit the app and visit Xiaomi’s e-commerce site.
Bytedance said on Tuesday that it will also allow JD.com to add mini-programs for a major shopping festival on Douyin.
In addition to mini-programs that are geared toward e-commerce, Douyin has already opened up to game developers by hosting its first leisure game.
