JD.com has applied its robust B2B capacity to power an e-commerce platform for Sinopec Jianghan Oilfield Ecological Agriculture Development Qianjiang Co., Ltd, according to a press release issued by the tech giant. Sinopec Jianghan is based in Qianjiang, Hubei province.
The US-listed company JD.com added that its cloud, artificial intelligence, and big data capabilities ensure the stable and efficient operation of the online mall, which is called Jianghan Ecosystem Agricultural Mall.
The shopping portal went online on January 31, a month ahead of schedule, just as the COVID-19 outbreak led to a surge in web-based consumption.
So far, the e-commerce platform has served around 100,000 residents in more than 30 neighborhoods in Qianjiang. In all, it has shipped nearly 475,000 kg of fresh produce, rice and grains, cooking oil, meat, eggs, and other products to local residents in the Jianghan oilfield area in Hubei province, fulfilling orders made by more than 18,000 registered users.
