Zuzu Hospitality Solutions raised US$3.7 million to fund its regional expansion plan, the firm announced in a press release. This series A round was led by Wavemaker Partners.
The Singapore-based startup claims it’s a “category-defining” hotel management service. It combines software and humans into a package consisting of online management and distribution tools and consultants that assist independent hotels. Zuzu believes that by helping these hotels manage their brand and revenue, they can then focus on providing quality hospitality services to guests.
Zuzu said in the press release that its package delivers an average increase of 30% in online revenue. According to Zuzu, there are more than 300,000 independent hoteliers globally, yet less than one in ten use any sort of revenue management software.
Founded in 2016, Zuzu raised a seed round of US$2 million in 2017 to develop its product. The company is headquartered in Singapore and also operates in Indonesia and Taiwan. It will use the money raised to expand its operation to Thailand and Australia. Zuzu said it has already appointed a country manager in the two respective countries.
This new funding round for Zuzu brings its total funding amount to US$6.7 million. Wavemaker Partners joins previous investors such as Golden Gate Ventures; Convergence Venture; Alpha JWCVentures; Access Ventures; and Line Ventures.
