Grab partners with TrueMoney in Indonesia to recruit drivers, upping rivalry with Go-Jek

Grab has signed a partnership with TrueMoney on Wednesday to tap the latter’s extensive agents’ network to quicken the recruitment of new drivers, as the Singapore-based ride-hailer is pushing hard to compete with its local archrival Go-Jek.

TrueMoney is a financial technology company headquartered in Thailand. It provides e-payment services throughout Southeast Asia and has 16,000 agents throughout Indonesia.

The two companies have signed a similar deal in the Philippines before as Grab has been exploring to expand into the Philippines as well.

TrueMoney agents can also earn a commission when they sign up Grab drivers, making it a win-win situation for them. The registration process is simple, prospective Grab drivers simply have to, through the agents, attach their files digitally for vet and wait for Grab’s confirmation.

‘With so many TrueMoney agents throughout Indonesia, Grab potential partners do not need to physically come to Grab to register as a Partner’, said TrueMoney’s Director of Operations in Jakarta (translated from Bahasa Indonesian into English).
